Continuing work with the Nick Simons Institute, I am analyzing national hospital data to identify low-performing indicators and synthesize findings for the Nepali Ministry of Health as actionable steps to address key weaknesses in the national healthcare system with a global team of researchers.

Evaluated the Advanced Skilled Birth Attendant (ASBA) task-shifting initiative through in-depth analysis of 112 quantitative surveys (STATA, Microsoft Excel) and 18 qualitative interview transcripts (NVivo) of ASBA graduates and hospital staff, which resulted in policy recommendations to increase program efficacy and improve maternal child health outcomes in rural Nepal. Disseminated ASBA evaluation findings, recommendations, and data visualizations in the form of a governmental policy brief, an internal report, and a journal article (awaiting publication).

Developed and tested a novel environmental extraction method for the wider environmental microbiology field under a Gates Foundation grant to improve latrine quality and sanitation access in Mozambique. Evaluated the prevalence of Covid-19 in wastewater to monitor the spread of the disease early on during the pandemic by testing and analyzing +100 influent samples for SARS-CoV-2 RNA yields resulting in a research paper, awaiting publication.

I administered the Liver Tissue and Cell Distribution System (LTCDS) out of the University of Minnesota by processing, maintaining, and updating a database with 3,453 and growing human hepatic samples used for international research. This involved translating the LTCDS system to a digital system for improved efficiency and accuracy, publishing quarterly reports on all shipments, orders, and additions to the database, and communicating with teams of international researchers regularly.
