I worked in a retail position in Decathlon, Staines as a summer job in 2018. I became readily familiar with the working of tills, stock and the company employee website. I learnt how to efficiently put up displays and change shop windows, while also supplying excellent customer service. I was in charge of the watersports section due to my specialist knowledge and as a result I was able to advise many customers on the best product for their plans. I made sure my section was always tidy and that the products were all in the correct places.

They could come to me with confidential information or flat arguments which I could mediate or help to resolve by offering 'life-tips'. Again, in a team of colleagues we planned events and activities for the students to take part in, offering everything from a movie night with pizza to a pub quiz event in town. However, our ultimate job was to help BU develop the scheme, so that communication with students may improve and there be a greater dialogue for the passing of news.
