Working within a child protection area team.

Worked part time as a trainee social worker in the child protection field whilst completing the final months of my degree leading up to being qualified.

Sessional work working within the homeless resettlement projects in York and the young people’s hostel located in Gateshead. I provide advice to individuals which is empowering and opportunity-driven in order to give them the best chance of making a positive change to their lives. Further to this, ensuring the accommodation is maintained to a good standard whilst also working effectively as a team is also an important factor within my role.

Sessional work over both summer and October half term holidays. Role as an activity leader included maintaining a safe and Covid-19 friendly activity camp. With the importance placed on providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children. Whilst delivering age appropriate fun and engaging activities, incorporating weekly themes and events. Further to this, it included the use of positive behaviour management and ensuring each campers individual needs are met accordingly.

Worked throughout the pandemic as a key worker. Replenishment of stock, ensuring cleanliness of the store, working as a team in unprecedented times were part of my role in this job.

I began my role as a housekeeping supervisor, then got promoted to hotel supervisor. My role included problem solving, complaint handling and ensuring the smooth running of a city centre principle 104 bed hotel. Further to this, I had the responsibility of managing the staff, ensuring goals were met and standards were maintained. Communication and listening skills were key in this role, alongside the ability to work under pressure in a professional and organisational manner.

I started at Travelodge as a Bar Cafe team member which involved serving breakfast on a morning. I then further advanced my skills onto the reception department which held more responsibilities. Alongside this, I was would support on house keeping when required.

This role involved supervising children in a youth club on an evening and also running activities. Knowledge regarding safeguarding was the most important part this role.

Team work, organisational and communication skills were essential within this role. It involved working both the bar and front of house in a fast pace village restaurant.
