I work directly wtith patients of the Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematologic Malignancy Clinic here in the Cancer Center of KU. I interview them about their medications as well as triage their questions and concerns. I also assist them in receiving their medication especially Oral Chemotherapy and Specialty medications so frequently needed in this demographic. In addition to that, I also follow up on any oral chemotherapy or specialty medication needed for ANY patient under the University of Kansas Cancer Care Umbrella- whether they receive care from Westwood, or another of our satellite clinics/infusion centers such as Indian Creek, North KC, etc. that we cannot fill at our specialty retail pharmacy, Southlake. I also assist in other duties required by my Pharmacists or Nurse Coordinators on an ad hoc basis, constantly transforming my role/duties as our center continues to grow.
