I discovered Montessori education as a parent nineteen years ago and have been involved in it ever since. At Oak Meadow School in Littleton, MA I taught Upper Elementary students before becoming Assistant Head of School. In addition, I served on the Board of Trustees at Summit Montessori School in Framingham, MA. In 2007, I moved to Philadelphia to become Head of School of Gladwyne Montessori, a Main Line school serving 250 students from 18 months to middle school. As primary spokesperson for the organization, I advocated for the unique Montessori program and mission of the school among our families and throughout the community. I worked closely with the Board of Trustees to envision and execute the school's strategic vision. During that time, I led a faculty and staff of 50+ to make transformational changes to program, which broadened market appeal and addressed changing family needs. As CEO, I cultivated and maintained relationships with current and potential donors. In 2012 we launched a new Middle School, creating space, securing faculty and implementing curriculum. In July 2015, I stepped down from that position to pursue new opportunities while staying involved as a consultant in several of the school's strategic initiatives, including the establishment of the Gladwyne Montessori Teacher Education Program, expected to open in 2016.Last spring I returned to Massachusetts to become Director of Elementary and Middle School Programs at Cambridge Montessori School, responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of that thriving program, as well as to help develop and implement a vision for its future.Prior to entering the field of education, I spent ten years in institutional equity sales at Paine Webber in Boston, before retiring from that line of work to own and operate a regional Bed & Breakfast Reservation service and local B&B.
