About Abigail Morrison
I am currently completing my fifth year at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation. While attending post-secondary I played for the University of Alberta's women's basketball team. I am participating in a Sport Psychology Internship as my practicum for my final semester of my Bachelor's degree. I hope to bring the knowledge I am gaining through the sport psychology field further into my future in my interactions with athletes. I have been coaching basketball for the last 7 years and will continue to work as a coach with a focus towards encouraging sport involvement and working further towards increasing retention of youth athletes. I have gained experience in working with youth ages 6-17 and have began to build a strong base for understanding the programming processes for youth physical activity. I plan to bring great communication skills that I have been granted through my years of communicating in team environments, a motivation for encouraging physical activity in youth lifestyles, and a passion for community outreach to all my future endeavours.
