During my time at this lab I conducted five different experimental designs examining attentional suppression with 120 participants. While conducting the experiments, I instructed participants on experimental procedure, debriefed participants after experiment conclusion, and discussed prominent research papers regarding sensation and perception every other week with other lab members.

I worked for URSA Night Life last year (August 2022-December 2022) and currently. URSA is WashU's event planning committee for night life activities. We plan nightly events and we are sponsored by the university, focused on building student interactions and building the WashU community. During this experience, I planned & directed three monthly events for WashU general body to enjoy while also partnering w/ local companies to cater events, deliver materials and conduct engaging tutorials for exciting activities. I also directly contacted vendors with pricing, completed expense reports, and organized venues to ensure event success.

This role was designed to help incoming freshman become accustomed to life at WashU. Campus Assosiciates such as my self were trained to help students with everything from roommate disputes to mental health issues or how to deal with unauthorized substances. During this role I directed orientation week for incoming freshman to smooth college transition, and conducted office hours every week to interact with 20 students and answer any inquiries. I also attended meetings with other student associates on team to plan for office hour activities to foster student growth.

I worked in the Control & Decision Making Lab working with a post doctoral researcher in the lab editing code using Python, running participants, and presented the project in a showcase after my research was finished. I also got the opportunity to work on an EEG study, and gained the ability to place the cap on participants heads, install the electrodes, troubleshoot until the signal relayed clearly and interpret the results.

This role's activities include building relationships between WashU alumni, and encouraging donations to the university to help improve university life.In this position I: -Raised approx. $3,236 donation funds for university-Implemented negotiation tactics to improve pledge rate -Fostered positive connections with alumni through active listening-Handled alumni complaints by identifying problems and providing clear feedback to alumni

During this position I got the opportunity to observe and assist medical professionals as they performed operations and conducted exams on neurological patients.In addition I: -Observed neurological surgeries in operating room & spoke with surgeons regarding surgical techniques-Interpreted neuropathology and radiology imaging to learn how to write diagnostic reports-Engaged in neurology & neurosurgery clinics to learn how to use medical devices used in patient recovery-Attended neurosurgery rounds to learn proper patient-doctor interaction-Shadowed James W. Holsapple, Chief of Neurosurgery and learned how to designate tasks & work with medical staff to improve patient care

During this internship I:-Recruited participants through the SPARK database & virtually conducted video game study with participants-Communicated with families and participants for follow-up visits and/or compensation-Orally presented research results to neurosurgical faculty & other research assistants

During this student experience I:-Collaborated with three students to design experimental task to test hypothesis: “Fearful auditory stimuli will cause a reduction in reaction time during visual search task”-Executed experimental procedure by generating auditory stimuli, using GSR equipment to measure arousal and using iMotion eye tracking technology to accurately measure when participants identified visual stimuli-Presented experimental results on research poster to student body
