Hi, I‘m Abigail, a mixed-media artist and art facilitator from London. My art practice both reflects and is informed by flow and change- the inner and outer transitions in my life, in the shifting shapes and patterns I see in nature and in the ever-changing energy of the world. I also examine cultural norms placed on me as a woman, when these imposed layers are stripped off, my authentic voice and identity emerge through my artwork. I play a game of hide and seek in my art, where layers are thickly applied then scraped off in sections to reveal hidden or covered up elements. A recurring theme is my personal search for freedom and how it is connected to broader collective fights for justice. Through my art, I connect to my truth and my authentic expression. I see art making as a form of visual storytelling and am continuously amazed by the mystical insights and wisdom that emerge through the intuitive approach I apply to my practice. I have a deep desire to share what I have learnt so far in my own Artist journey with others, so they too can discover their truth and identity through their own art-making. My workshops and one-to-one sessions encourage participants to relish utterly free exploration and play in art, and ‘unlearn’ expectations placed on them by society and culture in the process. My intention is that anyone who attends my workshops will leave feeling a newfound joy at the pure magic of ‘free flow’ art making. These experiences can be deeply healing and transformative for everyone involved. When I am not getting messy in the studio, I love to connect with nature by going for long walks through the woods or by the sea on weekends away from London. You may even sometimes find me on the stage, filming a scene or rehearsing a script, because I am also a trained actor. I love to sing, play the piano, and connect with others through music too. I believe that creative expression is utterly liberating, it allows people to recognise their creative source and uncover who they really are. Please get in touch if you would like to buy my art, collaborate, and I take commissions too:)
