I am currently working as a PAL (Peer Assisted Learning) Leader where I work with small groups of first-year Chemistry students at the University of Liverpool. Here I provide students with help on exam-style questions and provide solutions to the answers and study techniques. I lead groups on questions including mathematics and organic chemistry.

During my time here, I was responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and stock for the student accommodation known as Hillfort House. I believe this experience has improve my eye-for-detail and self-discipline which I believe are essential soft skills that can be applied to every aspect in the industry.

Here, I spent 6 weeks involved in the research of identifying and isolating bioactive compounds from the Spanish Cherry tree, which I had been told I will be given credit for in the publication of this research paper, and synthesising oleanolic acid oxime ester derivatives.

I worked a general role, most days I was behind the till serving customers and preparing drinks. On other days, I was on the restaurant floor serving food and tending to customers' needs. I believe self-management was one of the most valuable skills I learned here as being able to adapt to any role and having to gauge what role needed filling while the area was busy was paramount to success in the day.

I had to communicate with customers daily providing them with clear and straightforward information. Communication skills were essential to preventing confrontations and meeting expectations. My role included stacking products on the shop floor, managing/moderating stock, routine sanitization of stations, and manning the till.
