As a child I was always doing puzzles, filling out “Brain Quest” workbooks, and putting together/taking apart burr puzzles endless amounts of times. I have always been wired to be a problem solver. I would like to describe the way I think as systematic; I find a set way to go about a problem with one to two backup plans and get to work. This way of thinking has led me into a field where I am able to utilize my analytical thinking and combine it with my sense of creativity. One thing that I feel can explain my motivation and inspiration for my current and future work is my love of helping others. I strive to work in environments that allow me to better other’s lives with the work that I am creating. As a student in the College of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati studying computer science, I am aiming to develop my skills to incorporate my creativity and problem-solving skills to create programs/software that can make the lives of others easier. My view is that I should use the skills that I am fortunate enough to have and to learn to be of service to those that are not able to do the same. On an average day at college, you’ll find me working on projects, currently in C++, whether they be for personal or class projects. Personal projects I am currently working on are a digital piano and a sudoku game, but the most helpful project I’ve created was an online assignment tracker to help me track my school assignments. I am always aiming to learn new things while creating my own projects which is why I challenge myself with the programs I choose to create. However, when I’m not working on developing my skills of coding further, I can often be found socializing at club meetings and volunteer events. My overall career goals are to become a full-time software developer for a company where I feel passionate about the work I am creating. I hope to work with others who help me achieve my fullest potential and who help me grow continually throughout my career.
