Abigail Wadsworth Tree Email and Phone Number
As an English literature BA, with a minor in editing and publishing, I am passionate about helping authors effectively articulate their ideas and realize their writing potentials. Throughout my academic career, I have developed critical writing and editing skills within academic writing and fiction and applied them in various positions. As a BYU Studies editorial intern, I fact-check, copyedit, and proofread academic manuscripts (articles and books) for publication. As a writing tutor at BYU’s Research and Writing Center, I help students recognize developmental issues within their writing, like organization, and help them revise accordingly. I have also volunteered as a student editor for Leading Edge and Inscape, BYU student journals that publish creative writing, including personal essays and short stories. As an experienced writer and editor, I can offer a variety of services, which are highlighted below. My attention to detail, my strong work ethic, and my communication skills will help me provide thorough, high-quality edits and written content while working well with new and experienced authors, editors, and publishers.Areas of Expertise:Academic Writing: Skills: thesis/argument development, organization, style/voice, substantive edits, copyediting, proofreading, citations, fact-checking, etc.Genres: literary criticism, rhetorical analysis, conference papers, opinion editorials, literature reviews, blog posts, scholarly articles/books, etc.Fiction: Skills: developmental/substantive edits, copyediting, some experience formatting manuscripts in InDesignGenres: science fiction/fantasy and fiction short stories, young adult novels (science fiction, realistic fiction, fantasy, etc.), personal essays, etc.Note: You may have noticed that I spell "copyediting" as one word. While Merriam Webster's prefers to spell "copy editing" as two separate words, I have chosen to follow The Chicago Manual of Style's guidance to spell "copyediting" and all other variations as one word.
