Create and teach LGBTQ+ Law

We are a pro bono legal project dedicated to providing legal information and resources to transgender and nonbinary individuals across the state of Wisconsin.

I practiced in the following areas: estate planning, probate, LGBT family planning, name and gender change, guardianship, real estate, and landlord-tenant law.

I practiced in the following areas: estate planning, probate, real estate, LGBT family planning, guardianship, landlord-side landlord-tenant, collections, and family law. I began developing my own book of business through participating in community organizations and networking groups.

I provided assistance in the following areas: Retirement and Estate Planning Strategies, Financial Plans, Alternative Investments, Socially Responsible Investments, Mutual funds, Life insurance, Disability income insurance, and Long-term care insurance.

I ran my own General Practice law firm with specific experience in: LGBT family planning, transgender legal issues, ADA compliance, landlord/ tenant, estate planning/ probate, and real estate.

I conducted legal research, wrote briefs, prepared for courtroom appearances, counseled clients, and observed trials. I provided other legal assistance to the resident attorney as needed in the areas of landlord/tenant, Social Security, immigration, estate planning, HIV/ AIDS discrimination, and more.

I provided pro bono legal information and resources to individuals with disabilities across the state of WI, managed my own cases under the supervision of the managing attorney, and conducted legal research in preparation for litigation.

I managed probate cases and trust administration, prepared necessary estate planning documents, and gave presentations to the community at large.

I conducted necessary legal research for Judge Rhonda Lanford of the Dane County Circuit Court, observed a myriad of legal proceedings in a courtroom setting, and worked with the Judge and her staff attorney to gain experience writing judicial opinions.

Conducted necessary legal research for potential, current, and long-standing clientele, prepared wills and trusts for clients pending attorney approval, and gained invaluable legal experience with estate planning and probate administration.

Provided pro bono legal information and resources to more than 100 predominately low-income clients, conducted legal research for current bills, and wrote legal documents in preparation for impact litigation, and organized more than fifty lobbyists for Transgender Advocacy Day 2013 at the state capitol.

Assisted in leading two kindergarten students with Down Syndrome toward educational success and co-directed groups of youth in educational and social activities during after-school care.

Served for one year as an Americorps VISTA; recruited, trained and supervised a pool of highly-skilled volunteers for our naturalist program and engaged in non-profit fund development through coordination of the major donor program at the non-profit.

Served for one year as an Americorps VISTA; designed and implemented Science on Wheels, an outdoor education program for low-income students and received $10,000 in grant funding for an outdoor education program during my Americorps service.

Planned and implemented group trainings which fostered collaboration in a positive and safe manner and trained staff through a series of social justice trainings and educational activities.

Handled campaign finances and represented the Congresswoman at parades and other various community events.

Assisted a tenured professor with an upcoming publication and drafted and submitted reports of my research on a timely basis.
