I teach 2-5 year olds using a play-based, constructivist philosophy. I design and implement inclusive and emergent curriculum that focuses particularly on social emotional development, relationship building, and authentic learning through play. As a teacher in a parent co-op, I support parents in co-playing in the classroom and at home, understanding their children’s individual learning profiles, and navigating family transitions and daily life with preschoolers.

As the Head of Curriculum, I created a cohesive curriculum framework and designed research-based learning goals and activities for young children that supported children in building skills in communication, creativity, and social awareness. I collaborated with creative, marketing, and leadership teams to playtest products and ensure that all in-app and parent facing content reflected high-quality practice and current research in child development. In tandem with this role, I served as Lead Copywriter and helped create a brand voice in an evolving digital start-up environment. In this capacity, I wrote product guides, articles for parents and educators, in-app interactive content, social media posts, and promotional and retention emails. OK Play is a first-of-its-kind interactive storytelling app that empowers kids to create, star in, and share their own stories. The app puts kids in the director’s chair by using tools for drawing, photography, video, sound and more to ignite creativity, self-expression, and play! Our team of child development experts knows that play is how kids learn best and have designed all of OK Play’s content to support social-emotional learning in kids ages 3-8, teaching life skills like kindness and empathy. OK Play is ad-free, kidSAFE certified, and has earned a 5-star rating from Common Sense Media, resulting in screen time parents can feel good about.

Served as a learning designer for district-wide science units aligned to Next Generation Science Standards. Coached elementary teachers and tested play-based curriculum in schools. Created and disseminated learning materials focused on the importance of play and early learning experiences on student academic and wellness outcomes. Implemented Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) curriculum in diverse classrooms, coached teachers on their practice, and developed research-based guides for more effective and responsive curriculum implementation. The guides included a resource supporting second language learning in art discussions and a resource aligning the school partnership program with the new early childhood curriculum in the Boston Public Schools.Served as a liaison to Boston Public Schools and supported teachers in implementing the VTS curriculum in K-5 classrooms. Evaluated the program's effectiveness by coding and analyzing student writing samples. Collaborated in the development, adaptation, and leading of gallery-based tours for K-12 students and worked with volunteers in creating developmentally appropriate guides and tour routes.

In this role, I provided individual tutoring to fellow undergraduates in psychology courses and study skills.

As a literacy tutor, I worked with students in grades K-6 in individualized and group tutoring sessions. I supported the students as they built stronger literacy skills and grew confident in their academic abilities.
