Unit Tech
CurrentIn this position, I am able to use my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license to assist nurses, doctors and other healthcare personnel to admit, discharge, and transport 20+ patients during each shift to strengthen communication and efficiency within the hospital. During a shift, I organize the rounding of my 12+ patients to keep the healthcare team informed of their status, as well as alerting doctors and nurses of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormal vital sign readings.I often need to calmly navigate unexpected situations such as admits to the floor, discharges, or specialized orders from the doctors, while still maintaining timely care and attention to my patients and their needs. This position has given me great hands-on experience that will be vitally important as I enter nursing school, as I am currently studying to become a Registered Nurse.
