I advanced community and clinical research and advocated with underrepresented populations by coordinating a successful $5 million NIH grant proposal for AI/AN cancer prevention, and by implementing an NIH protocol for an adolescent alcohol and dating abuse study in a pediatric emergency room.

Boston Medical Center

I partnered with corner store owners and middle school students living in a "food desert" to bring healthier options to their neighborhood. I designed and facilitated a 10-week middle school health curriculum centered on reducing sugar sweetened beverage purchase and consumption, and I taught research and evaluation skills for students to assess their preferences and report to the corner store owners.

Tacoma, Wa

Directed multiple non-profit organization programs in support of children and families with HIV/AIDS in the U.S., including organizing an annual summer camp for 350 family members and volunteers. Led high school leadership, mentoring, adoption connection, and sex education programs. Reduced stigma, grew donor base, and strengthened community and health education.
