I am currently working as a Child Protection social worker within LA Children’s Social Care following completion of my MSc whilst a participant on the Frontline Programme, working with children and families whilst studying in partnership with Lancaster University. My thesis interests lie in environmental and social factors pertaining to children’s mental health specifically understood through the lens of systemic and contextual safeguarding theories. Moreover, how these theories may allow us to explore to the differences in children’s metacognitive awareness. My other interests include effects of educational accountability measures and perceptions of the rise and impact of digital technology as potential factors in the absence of positive mental health. In the future, I hope to undertake professional doctoral study with the interest of children's mental health, namely in the development and integration of systemic interventions in the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing to support children and young people with SEMH needs. I have HLTA (higher level learning support assistant) experience with the successful implementation of intervention schemes with differing ages of primary school and nursery age children. Also in the planning, delivery and reviewing of lessons in current curriculum subjects, specifically in relation to children with Special Educational Needs.
