CurrentThe Hue Bridge is an embedded Linux platform controlling lights in millions of homes.· Implemented new features using C, C++, Python and Shell plus tests in C++, Python and Node.js.· Led the redesign and implementation of provisioning + fw updates + analytic collection for the Hue Bridge, using Google IoT MQTT services.· Led the team responsible for the filesystem migration in millions of devices. From design to release, all accomplished without unexpected failures.· Introduced an architecture where daemons exchange data with each other and with the cloud through a broker. This replaces HTTP, gRPC and Websockets.· Introduced Python and Rust as alternative languages for embedded development.· Introduced SQLite as a way to store data inside the product. Also lead the team that carried out the performance and robustness tests that backed up the decision.· Helped improving the security of the system by introducing HTTPS using NGINX. · Tuned code to increase uptime and reduce communication latency with the cloud.· Improved the data logged to the cloud to ease the diagnostic of issues.· Ported the latest OpenWRT to the hardware, including new kernel drivers.· Debugged an fixed performance issues of musl libc.· Participated in the evaluation and selection of new hardware (CPU + WiFi).· Found a silicon bug in the MIPS CPU.· Temporarily relocated to Palo Alto to assist the development of the Hue Play HDMI Sync Box firmware and hardware.
