About Alexandra Birnbach

Community Library Manager. Professional reference librarian with 15+ years of experience in reference, instruction, and public library programming. Additional experience in volunteer coordination and supervision. In May 2018, I was awarded a grant from the American Library Association for programming related to PBS' The Great American Read. With the grant, I developed a 6-month long reading program which drew as many as 240 participants.During my time as a Reference Librarian, I've served as Chair of the Digital Services Working Group for the MARINet Library Consortium; taught public workshops on library digital resources; developed book club services, designed and implemented a personalized reading list program for adults; and curated rotating displays of materials which explored social issues and minority voices. I coordinated the Mill Valley Public Library volunteer program and supervised a core group of volunteers.
