The programme linked them with professionals and businesses across Manchester ranging from Outsourcery, FDM Group Investec, local universities or police and fire services to Laing O'Rourke, The BBC, Cisco or The Cooperative.All these opportunities provided teenagers a way to find out about the world of work, further improve their skills in leadership, teamwork, leading events or workshops, public speaking and engage with professional mentoring.I also designed and led an award-winning large-scale public consultation day, funded by Google, in Manchester city centre to celebrate positive young people following the riots, which engaged over 1,000 local residents. Every year I managed over 100 volunteers, recruiting, training and supporting them. I also represented RECLAIM at networking events, delivering presentations at conferences or board meetings, secured funding and established successful partnerships with businesses such as Zolfo Cooper or Gunnercooke.I was also team lead on external communications, pioneering the use of social media and liaising with local and national press, as well as designing leaflets and streamlining brand image with a communications strategy and representing the charity at networking events, meetings and presentations.
