I enjoy making new connections and celebrating the achievements of my teammates.DATA SCIENCE:I believe in the power of data to tell stories, and am currently finishing my senior year in the MSDS program at the University of Virginia. I was a 2023 Women in Sports Tech Fellow on the Performance Innovation team at the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee (summer 2023), where I analyzed existing models designed to predict athlete medal expectancy in order to refine and optimize them for accuracy and runtime. By testing the models and providing reasonable ranges of expected accuracy, I gave the performance innovation team the data needed in order to field questions from national sport governing bodies and to make changes to the model’s running parameters in order to maximize accuracy without compromising runtime significantly. MTB RACING:I am a Roanoke, Virginia-based elite mountain bike racer with a passion for community, local trails, & East Coast mountain biking. I primarily race cross-country marathon and enduro--all with a love for the outdoors, the trails, and the people that make cycling such a vibrant and fun sport. In 2023, I competed at the XCM World Championship & XCM Pan American Championships, as well as took my first pro wins in both XCM and Enduro. Along with training as an elite athlete, I am a community advocate for cycling, coaching the junior mtb development team, working at the local bike shop, and advocating for improved access & safety for cyclists in the Roanoke area. My goal: more people on bikes.I love the motto #ridebikesbehappy because I believe my story can inspire people to realize that ANYONE can experience joy in getting outside and riding a bike. For 2024, I am continuing to ride as an “privateer” athlete (Ride Fierce Racing), where, instead of racing under a team, I will work directly with individual sponsors to build a program that will enable me to reach my goal of qualifying for the 2024 UCI Marathon MTB World Championship to be held in Snowshoe, West Virginia. Specifically, I will be partnering with Cardinal Bicycle and Rocky Mountain Bicycles.
