Building on the successful 2018 website, we needed higher security and better voting process.Produced by the extraordinary Kathryn Maxwell, this website project delivered high production values, style and functionality, on a modest budget.

One of my favourite recent challenges was relaunching the website and online presence of this leisure property development company. John Sullivan is a world-leading expert in making property work for the leisure industry – especially when it comes to cinema. My role is to ensure his contacts and prospects are kept up to date on this exciting and rapidly-changing field.

I love working on The EBP's print newsletter 'Term Talk', which reports on the social enterprise's activities and achievements, and current issues in education and personal development for young people in Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties. I research, plan and write it each term, and also work on allied projects in online and print media.

CPD is a public interest think tank dedicated to seeking out creative, viable ideas and innovative research to inject into Australia’s policy debates.I loved working for CPD. I got to manage a good website with fascinating content, and kept CPD's supporters informed about our news and good ideas... I also facilitated media coverage from TV to online to print, and helped to produce and promote truly excellent research publications on a variety of subjects which could really make a difference to Australian public policy.CPD's Twitter and Facebook fan bases doubled during my tenure, as did print media coverage. I developed good relationships with some very high calibre Australian media players. I will miss them and I know I delivered them some great material so I hope they will miss me too!

I ran communications, both internal and external for IAPB, which is equal partners with the World Health Organization in the VISION 2020: The Right to Sight global initiative. VISION 2020 aims to eliminate the main causes of avoidable blindness by the year 2020, and I aimed to keep two websites, a newsletter and a range of media partnerships running, while juggling the demands of close to 100 member organisations.I did this with very little in the way of resources or personnel support, but with plenty of dedication and commitment.

I was head-hunted by a former employer to take over EFM when this leading industry journal was on the brink of collapse. As magazine manager, I was responsible for developing editorial schedules, design, budgets, staffing and strategic direction. But above all, I was responsible for maintaining a sustainable level of advertising sales to guarantee healthy profits. This I did, in the face of two takeovers and seismic shifts in both the magazine industry and financial markets, both of which directly shook the publication.

I started with this publishing group as an advertising sales rep, and was promoted to manager of the flagship title within 18 months. It was hard work, but well paid, varied and interesting - for a while!
