😁✌🏽 Hiya! I'm Abdullah Khurram. I'm a First-Generation Low-Income (FGLI) US Citizen and College Student pursuing my Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science at the Virginia Tech College of Engineering! By day, you can catch me at the library nose-deep in a plethora of programming assignments, projects, and by night, I'm a dedicated advocate of all that is related to the betterment of my community and to my biggest passion: music! I DJ for the Virginia Tech college radio station, and I also volunteer there as part of the IT and Engineering staffs, along with producing my own tunes on the side 🎶👩🏻‍💻 My passion for computers and computer science all started around when I was 11 years old, going to the Tyson's Corner Apple Store and using a Mac for the first time. My jaw was agape at how much faster and easier it was to use than the family computer, an old Windows XP behemoth, and when I looked over at the pricing guide, I realized that the computer I was using costed an eye-watering (at the time) $1299! I decided I'd do something about it, and when I went home, I read a bunch of tutorials and figured out how to get Mac OS X 10.8 Lion running on the family computer. However, I accidentally nuked the hard drive in the process, and as my dad was talking to me in a mixed angry/starstruck mood, I decided then and there that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.✨ Now I pursue my passion for both people and technology by working and doing things that interest me, for instance, my research has given me the opportunity to work with both Virginia Tech professors and stakeholders at the DoD and at JWAC, and I solidified my ability to work in a time via my independent study, the GobblerBot -- a self-driving food delivery robot made out of off-the-shelf parts! From here, my goal is to innovate, I love the idea of finding "the next big thing", and I want to be the person to make that "next big thing" come to fruition.🛠 What I'm Working on Right Now:🎯 Making like-minded connections that have the skills to help do "the next big thing"🎯 Empowering underrepresented voices both at Virginia Tech and in my hometown, Woodbridge, Virginia🎯 Creating things that make me, my family, and my friends happy!📫 Fun Facts💿 For making music, my preferred DAW is Logic Pro!📺 My second monitor is a Sony PVM tube display from 1983!
