About Abraar Ahmed
I am interested in taking complex problems and making regular progress on them. I have a wide range of interests; most notably machine and deep learning, statistics, physics, electronics, cognitive science, energy, and economics. I believe that there are lessons, principles, and methods that can be learned from one field and applied successfully to others.Currently, my data team and I do computational research and development work to solve a host of problems in an ever evolving landscape. In graduate school, my research group and I studied and developed robust predictive modeling and applied machine learning techniques for financial markets. In college, I competed in robotics events and a racecar design and development competition, and dabbled in design, testing, and fabrication of circuit boards. My undergraduate research was on pattern acknowledgement and communication between robots.I am interested in machine and deep learning, experimental design, and leveraging the potential of data to arrive at empirically grounded answers to system, product, and policy questions.I am always pursuing opportunities and avenues to impact through data science and machine learning methodologies; especially in startups, markets, and societal impact organizations.
