I manage the following functions:1. General Accounting:I am the firm's accountant and also serves as an external accountant for 5+ clients that we have. I manage the general bookkeeping, statutory obligations, tax consultancy and management reporting for these organisations.2. System ManagementI also manage the ERP system that we use and also for the other clients that we have. My focus is mostly on the Job Cost accounting which I link to the financial accounting. I use my analytical skills to make sure that I perform this function in a unique way.3. ReportingI not only do regular management reporting, but I also do customized reports for the businesses I work with to enable them understand their internal and external business environments better. I also simplify the accounting reports to make the business decision makers make the best decisions about their businesses.4. Business ConsultancyIn addition to doing the books of accounts, I use my experience in Kenya's and the region's business environment to advise clients on their business environment. This enables the businesses link their current status to the external environment and hence position their businesses for success. It also enables businesses prepare for future changes in their industries such as changes in statutes that affect them.

I worked as a manager in the Accounts Outsourcing Department where I accomplished the following:1. Accounting Systems:I interacted with various accounting systems throughout my time here. The most notable ones were Quickbooks (both desktop and online), Sage Pastel, Microsoft NAV and ERP Next.I set up these systems for organisations in different industries which include NGOs, Law firms, SACCOs, Accounting firms, clearing and forwarding firms, salons, schools among others. I trained support staff on how to use these systems to make sure that the systems helped the firms achieve their goals. I made the systems work for the organisation and not the other way around.2. ReportingI prepared monthly, quarterly, half year and full year books of accounts in line the IFRS standards. In addition, I prepared customised analytical reports that enabled the businesses learn more about their current state and hence are able to plan better for the future. I was consistently able to simplify the financial statements to enable businesses understand them better and hence make decisions that helped their businesses a great deal.3. Client ServicingI interacted with multiple clients and in most of them I was the contact person. I got excellent client reviews in how I handled every aspect of my communication with them. I was deemed as the most reliable contact person in the organisation.4. Client SourcingI brought in clients as well as introduced existing clients to other services that we offered. This I utilized my relationship building skills that enabled me lock in even usually difficult clients. This definitely contributed to the bottom line of the firm.5. Change ManagementI managed change in almost all the organisations I worked with. This change involved systems, personnel and culture. I was able to navigate through the challenges we experienced using my previous experiences and also learnt new ways of solving other challenges that I hadn't experienced before.

Tanzania

Chief executive of the association in the country. This involved controlling the budgeting processes and financial reporting of the organization since it was a young organization. It also included planning and leading about 300 members and about 30 other managers.

Here, I was the final responsible for finance, legal and administration for theassociation in the country. I was in charge of the budgeting process of theorganization. Also, I was a signatory to the account and hence controlled the day today expenditures of the organization and supervised all accounting processes of theorganization. As an executive, I was responsible for all the financial reporting to all ourstakeholders.
