My work entailed defining and designing shipboard systems, performing calculations and specifying equipment, modeling the systems in Rhino 3D and AutoCAD, and developing system technical specifications. I got a lot of responsibility on one project in particular, which as an intern always feels very rewarding. I was in charge of developing a vessel's initial EPLA, one-line, weights and centers estimate, machinery arrangement, lighting arrangement, and defining several shipboard systems along with the necessary documentation. This internship at Glosten was a very rewarding experience and allowed me to learn more about ship design.I plan on returning in September of 2024 for a full time position as a Staff Marine Engineer at Glosten.
