My most remarkable experience to date is graduating from Tel Aviv University with a degree in International Business law. It was an experience unlike any other I've had especially being that I am coming from the renowned town of Shashemene located in central Ethiopia. I earned my LL.B from Arba Minch University, located in the Southern region. I highly recommend visiting the town where my University is situated if you ever get the chance! :) My skill set is extensive and worth noticing, but my experience in the Legal field is yet rising. When I worked as an associate at Mekonnen and Law office in Ethiopia's Business capital Addis Ababa, it took me a week to write up an AoA and MoA; a month and a half to start writing legal opinions; and five months before I landed my first client and my last before leaving to university. But my skills towards drafting and writing did not stop there, I worked hard to make sure case reports, notices, legal service agreements, employment contracts and founders agreements were written-up and delivered on time to our clients. The learning I received at Tel Aviv University was truly solid and effective, granting me the confidence and maturity that I needed to continue making a difference in the field. I now know how to write-up a Founders agreement, an NDA and SPA amongst others. Enough is not said about agreements unless you are able to negotiate and mark them up, that I also learnt. The business of learning has also had me venture into studying about derivative contracts: options, forwards and swaps which could be complex but nevertheless interesting. Moreover, startup law, International Taxation, comparative copy right law and citizenship law also influenced my understanding, knowledge and awareness of the dynamic field of business.Thank you for reading!
