Secondment: Civil Structural Engineer – Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactors (RR-SMR) Developed the concept design for the Steel-plate Composite (SC) Hazard Shield Wall of the RR-SMR plant. Key responsibilities included:Reviewing literature on SC applications in the nuclear industry.Collaborating with plant design teams to identify structural design requirements.Ensuring regulatory compliance and reviewing SC design guidance.Creating initial designs and sizing SC elements for the shield wall.Proposing assembly methods and construction sequences for the SC solution.Comparing SC and conventional RC solutions in terms of cost, duration, and build certainty.

ZES Engineering is a small Sudanese private construction company established in August 2015. ZES Engineering is well-driven by both technical experience and academic knowledge by its three young talented Founders: Malik (Z)aroug, Abobakr (E)lwakeel and Mustafa (S)allam.Main projects accomplished by ZES so far:1. Designing and implementing a residential property (adding an extra 75 sq. mt. to a house, including two halls, a bedroom a bathroom and a kitchen). Leading a project to investigate cracking and durability for critical infrastructure projects in the UK (bridges, tunnels, abutments). Focusing on early-age and long-term cracking due to thermal strains and shrinkage, creep, phased construction, and external loading. This was my first job as a Civil Engineer. I delivered a project from the site investigation to the handing.
