Michael leads a diverse team across Singapore, China, Japan and Malaysia overseeing Sustainability and Social Impact via Lendlease Foundation (a not-for-profit).

Global ESG GM role focused development, implementation and oversight of Lendlease's Sustainability Strategy and 2020 targets across all Lendlease's operations in Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. In addition, Michael was also the Project Director leading a business transformation initiative to develop an integrated sustainability data collection and operational performance management digital solution across the entire construction, development and asset business portfolio globally. This solution continues to be used by the organisation as its foundational sustainability platform.

National role overseeing all environmental and community aspects of Lendlease operations in Australia aligned with ISO 14001, including maintaining core environmental management systems accreditation. The role, in partnership with the Environment, Health & Safety function was focused on ensuring environmental risks and opportunities were managed throughout the integrated Business from Investment Management and Development into Construction and Asset Management. The role also supported key subject matter expertise associated with land contamination/remediation, hazardous materials, occupational health, biodiversity protection and pollution prevention.

A Special Projects role, focused on the re-integration of 'environment' into the broader EHS (environmental health & safety) Management System and Enterprise Risk Management System at Lend Lease. This role included leading the development of environmental risk filters for investment decision making and environmental global minimum requirements which were implemented across Lendlease's global operations as part of the EHS global minimum requirements. Lendlease became externally recognised by industry and awarded for EHS leadership exhibited through it's global minimum requirements.During this time Lendlease undertook a major acquisition and Michael's role supported integration planning across the broader environment, health, safety and quality functions.

A pioneering role in Lendlease Group developing and implementing Lendlease's first Sustainability Strategy '21 Aspirations' across the organisation globally. The role was ground breaking in it's approach to undertaking a carbon footprint (scopes 1, 2 & 3) and ecological footprint of the organisation in 2007, setting bold targets in both environmental and social aspects and driving sustainability into responsible investment decision-making at the organisation. The role included working directly with all Lendlease Regions (Australia, Asia, Americas and Europe) in their development and execution of regional sustainability strategies through to leadership and shareholder reporting.

National consulting role providing strategic environmental management advice on new investments, major project bids and acquisitions. This role included providing specialist subject matter expertise on aspects ranging contaminated land remediation, hazardous materials, waste management, biodiversity protection, dangerous goods, occupational health. The role also included oversight of environmental management system accreditation, auditing and performing accredited environmental oversight roles on projects for Lendlease and external Clients.In particular Michael provided strategic support on several major Lendlease urban regeneration projects including Barangaroo South, Docklands Melbourne and Darling Quarter in addition to being an accredited RAB QSA EMS 14001 Lead Auditor and accredited Environmental Management Representative for a NSW government major infrastructure delivery organization.
