In December 2014 I sold Multifamily Parking Services Inc. to United Parking Services, taking a 50% ownership stake in United Parking Services and its sister company, Virtual Parking Manager.In my time as a co-owner at United Parking, I learned a TON about the parking industry from founder Dan Mechalchuk.Dan loves operations. And I love software. So in January 2017 we decided to legally divorce, with Dan retaining 100% ownership of United Parking, and me taking full ownership in the Intellectual property which became iStall.caUnder the terms of our divorce, United Parking Services became iStall's first customer.

In my time at Meterra I was privileged enough to build about 1,200 condominium units in Edmonton, Sylvan Lake, and Grande Prairie.These units were built using an investment structure where half of the units were owned by consortium of investors, and the other half were sold to owner occupants, with the investment units rented out.As we conveyed more and more of these units I started to notice that the parking stalls owned by the investment units were not being properly managed, and started to focus on how to manage our parking assets. This ended up leading to my lifetime career in parking asset management.

Compass Brokerages was a boutique commercial real estate broker and asset management organization. I was the founding principal and a Real Estate Associate at Compass Brokerages.This business was corollary to my work in real estate development and I closed the doors at Compass when I moved full time into parking management.

My first failed foray into iOS App Development. I paid a developer $5,000 to built an application that ultimately never made it into the real world, and dropped future development after effectively being held ransom. I chalk this one up to life experience!
