Part of the corporate press office team at Italy's national aerospace champion Leonardo. Responsible for media relations for the company's Airborne and Space Systems division, a multi-billion pound business based in Italy and the UK. Leonardo S.p.A (formerly Finmeccanica S.p.A) has yearly revenues in excess of 12Bn Euros and is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (FNC IM; SIFI.MI).

Working with the marketing and sales teams from across Selex ES's three UK divisions, I planned and executed strategic media campaigns in support of the company brand and individual product marketing and sales campaigns. Responsibilities included;• Managing the press activities of three regional communications managers. • Acting as point of contact for UK-based press crisis management.• Managing the corporate press function at UK and International trade events. • Project managing media events including press days to build the company brand.• Partnering with the Social Media/Web Manager to plan, execute and analyse digital and social media campaigns.• Overseeing the development of corporate communications material e.g. brochures, advertorials, infographics, web pages.• Running a proactive and reactive UK press function, for example responding to press calls, briefing spokespeople, writing and selling-in press releases.

• Building relationships with journalists across industry media and local press near to key sites. • Working with the sales and marketing department to research, write and agree press releases.• Liaising with press including arranging and supporting interviews with senior SELEX Galileo managers.• Event support including press briefing events and preparation for interviewees. • Media monitoring for daily news brief, distributed to senior management.

Responsible for project managing all SELEX Galileo-branded printed and digital material for external use. Other duties included copywriting for advertising and project management of one-off campaigns such as the communications for the launch of the company's Saudi Arabian subsidiary.

A variety of placements throughout the business in preparation for a suitable graduate role. I was responsible for a variety of projects including competitor analysis, bid support, supporting the overhaul of the corporate website and project managing the team running the International Graduate Conference, attended by 200 people, at the end of the scheme.

Industrial placement year during Lancaster University studies. I worked with the market research and franchise departments to deliver customer insights to brand managers. Responsibilities included outsourcing surveys and analysing results, organising and conducting focus groups and providing input to brand campaign development activities.
