I am passionate about young people in my community. I believe in the power of mentoring.I have over 20 years of experience working with youth of all ages in a variety of settings. I am a certified teacher with experience in before/after school programs, tutoring, teaching ESL students, and coaching at multiple age levels. My experience includes teaching overseas.I have 15 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher, coach, after school instructor, and administration in suburban, urban, and rural settings.I work with women and children in domestic violence and crisis situations currently living in shelter. I hold a Masters Degree in History from Missouri State University and a Specialist Degree in Administration from William Woods University. I completed my Doctorate in 2016 having conducted research on the relationship between teachers' union and teacher quality, satisfaction, and retention in rural Missouri school districts.I am actively pursuing my interests in the area of youth advocacy, at-risk youth, social justice issues, and community building.I believe in a creating a community that works for everyone.
