Study pulsar timing as part of Professor James Cordes' research group. Contribute to the overarching goal of gravitational wave detection as a junior member of the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav). Develop python model-fitting software to analyze the scattering effects of the interstellar medium on pulsar timing. Independently conduct my project, exercising self-motivation and accountability for my progress. Effectively communicate and present project results during group meetings. Assist discussion section learning for the augmented Mechanics and Special Relativity Course. Answer questions and promote critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Continued research in the Cordes radio astronomy group at Cornell as a summer research scholar.

Simulated spectroscopic absorption and emission from circumgalactic clouds of gas and dust to better understand them, using the spectral synthesis code Cloudy. Conducted optical spectroscopic observations of globular clusters at the Keck and Palomar observatories for this work. Currently preparing a paper for publication focusing on forecasting for upcoming spectroscopic surveys of the Milky Way.

Studied pulsars and their timing residuals in an effort to better detect gravitational waves. Learned and used the Python programming language to analyze pulsar data statistically. Learned and used the Latex programming language to write a research memorandum detailing my work. Wrote a research memorandum attached below.
