● Established a novel core competency (muscle oxygenation) within our multidisciplinary clinical research group in collaboration with medical device engineers at the Beckman Laser Institute ● Coordinated workflow for team of physicians, nurses, technicians, and scientists on clinical studies to comply with cGCPs. ● Developed clinical protocols and interfaced with regulatory body (UCI IRB)● Mentored and trained 3-4 undergraduate students per year to complete supplemental projects

● Pioneered experiments with animal models of stroke and brain hemorrhage ● Novel techniques and preliminary results lead to a new funded R-01 grant for Dr. Carmichael● Trained a team of 3 undergraduate assistants to independently perform behavioral experiments
