Operations Manager -Materials Supply
Current∼ Strategic oversight, direction, and management of the Perioperative (including robotics) and Pathology services material supply (value: $ 17.6 million) of the University of Rochester Medical Center (900 beds), which includes the Golisano Children’s hospital, University Central Labs, and Patient Service Centers in 40 locations.∼ Works closely with the Group purchasing organization, GPO – CAPTIS (Vizient)∼ Manages strategic bulk buying.∼ Manages sourcing, purchasing, stocking, reordering, invoice reconciliation, inventorying, storing all areas of the Perioperative and Pathological Laboratories at multiple locations (40+).∼ Manages staff who order, receive, inventory medical and surgical supplies, machine parts, consumables, accessories, and medical gases.∼ Manages back orders, order rerouting, allocation review, product recalls, price negotiations, product alternatives and contract negotiations.∼ Member of the Value Analysis committee and the Capital Equipment committee∼ Developed key performance indicators to ensure quality of supply chain services.∼ Confers and interacts with C-Suite, administrative, medical, nursing, anesthesia, and other staff.∼ Plans purchases based on demand projections and supply considerations.∼ Uses ABC and VED analysis for better stock control.∼ Implements lean management principles.Implements just-in time stocking.∼ Oversees biannual inventory of stock and financial statements.∼ Negotiations and interactions with Vendors and sales agents.∼ Storage space/Warehouse management.∼ Space management and expansion projects.∼ Purchase invoice reconciliations.∼ Manages purchase contracting.∼ Overseeing Requisitioning, Ordering and follow-up of supplies.∼ Overseeing Receiving, unpacking, storing, and accounting of supplies.Achievements: Successfully managed stock disruption during the Covid Crisis and now during the Baxter fluid crisis.
