Worked on the distributed back-end platform for Ning's social networking application empowering users interests and passions. As a platform engineer I worked with Java (Guice, Jersey, Jackson, Google collections, Apache commons, JDBI, Drools, Reflection API, JMX, Spring), build systems (Maven), Hadoop (Map/Reduce), Databases (Oracle, MySQL).

As the Network Architect in the Architecture group I was responsible for everything network related. I tracked standards and new technologies, advised on future directions, wrote specifications and developed code and worked with engineers to resolve problems. I also worked in non-networking areas as the need arose.Worked closely with LANL to develop a scalable network design for a high performance high capacity storage system.

As a member of the CTO's Office, contributed to strategic planning and design for upgrading the current 20G platform to an 80G/160G platform. Contributed to the evaluation of 10G Network Processors, Switch Fabrics etc. as part of the 80G upgrade design.

Participated in defining CoSine's products and contributed to all areas of engineering in terms of architecture, design and implementation. Mentored and educated engineers in all areas relating to the product. Worked with marketing, business development and customer support to understand the product, to position it in the market and do competitive analysis. Helped QA to understand and test the product.The IPSX hardware marries distributed routers with distributed processors to provide VPN Services for the ISP market. VPN services -- routing, packet forwarding, firewalls etc. -- are provided by distributed virtual routers (VR) (10,000 VRs per IPSX). IPNOS provides a message passing, fault tolerant, multi-processor system. Redundant system controllers are used to provide fault tolerant manageability of the device.
