Converted the majority of our tests written in C# with Selenium into JavaScript using Cypress.io's new framework. Happy to bid adieu to endless timeouts and null- and stale-element reference exceptions! Cypress is a Selenium killer!Built a small library of test helper functions in a ServiceFabric framework, exposed to our test library as a simple API. Their purpose is to significantly improve site "testability" by minimizing the need for tests to interact with the front end. Exposed via RESTful API endpoints, the functions will facilitate rapidly massaging test data into desired states, increasing test reliability and speed of execution, with the end goal being to minimize the work described in the next paragraph.Wrote end-to-end browser-based test code using Selenium Webdriver and NUnit in C#. Authored and refactored their original Selenium framework essentially from the ground up, using a combination of the Screenplay, Page Object, and Builder design patterns. Tests ran in parallel on a Zalenium VM array hosted on AWS, but they've been all but shut off since we switched to Cypress.

Issues are tracked in Jira, and product design and testing documentation is written in Confluence.Accomplishments:• Gave a presentation on writing effective "bug" reports to the Account Management team, resulting in improved communication between the AMs and Development, and faster turn-around time for addressing issues.• To improve Fetchback's "collective knowledge" and "institutional memory", I wrote detailed documentation for Fetchback's numerous advertiser reports, as well as instructional documentation for various aspects of "Fido," Fetchback’s proprietary tool for managing its client’s online advertising campaigns. These documents helped new employees get up-to-speed faster.• Codified the company's development process, describing all the steps, from design to release.• Starting from scratch, developed a suite of automated regression checks using Watir, Ruby, and SQLite3. These scripts expanded the breadth and scope of the release candidate regression testing while simultaneously reducing their execution time by an order of magnitude. Without them we would not have been able to maintain our aggressive weekly release schedule.

This included defining the release schedule, tracking showstopper bugs, managing the update process, and coordinating emergency "hot fixes" to the site when necessary.• Wrote and maintained all of the company's testing documentation, including a "New Tester Orientation"--a document designed to acquaint new hires with Qtask's unique development process (which resembled the Agile methodology).• Met weekly and semi-weekly with development heads to track and modify project priorities.• Worked with the Marketing department to design and implement a process for coordinating copy writers and IT staff (who were on opposite sides of the country) to ensure safe and frequent updates to Qtask's marketing web pages. Prior to implementing the process, many embarrassing problems would inadvertently "go live", to be found by customers. The new process minimized these types of mistakes.
