In life it is rare to have one's history validated by a single individual, but with CIPS, they validated my references and schooling, back to when I was 18.Earned my ISP, ITCP, based on background and years of real life history and experience added to the references of the business executives in the field and on the job. Was asked to join CIPS, the Canadian Information Processing Society, to work with them and become the CTO to help repair and guide them.Tasked with helping them get access to all of their infrastructure and gain a good grasp of the technology used by CIPS, while helping them with promoting CIPS by creating videos, video editing, attending events and venues. I was able to assist in finding and securing the vulnerabilities and locking down all functionality.During a CIPS event to over 130 individuals in a live event, we experience d a major mistake in equipment (100/100, we forgot the 1G switch), without intervention, technology shone for itself.

At the time, I was hired as a new IT support Tech. I did not like sitting and waiting for odd make work jobs, sitting in downtown offices for TD and not actually being utilized. MicroAge was dealing with a large issue with a large client, Visa, dealing with their processing centres on Steeles Ave East, in Scarborough. The deal from the whispers of how bad this was going to be revealed that it would lose the company more than a couple of million. MicroAge was about to lose the deal, the teams had been working on trying to find a solution for nearly 6 months.  I recall being warned (since I was relatively new), what the cost of failure meant to me and my career.  My reply was always, 'If I can't do it, I shouldn't be here'.  I always work to get the job done.  Took me two days to evaluate the situation, one or two hours to try and formulate a solution. I handed them a floppy disk with the repair files to transfer to all stations and the entire processing center became functional within minutes.After that, I was able to walk down to the hub of activity and request more and more work, as I didn't like just sitting around.I recall the look on client services face, when clients started calling back demanding that I be "the one" sent out, after just one visit. I enjoyed the working aspect and the challenges, and the fun I had solving client issues.

Was hired as a liaison between Canadian and US operations in IT/IS and Formulation security.Multiple challenges to overcome including being the last person the interviewed after over 3,000 resumes. I only received word of the position the day they were making the final decision. After a brief interview, I was asked to prove myself. I had asked for one hour to meet some of the staff and senior executives to learn the issues they needed solved. I helped with 3 major to them, minor to me issues and was given the position on the spot.After less than 4 months in, I took a flight to New York, to resign my position as too much red tape in IT did not allow the company to run smoothly, nor did it allow for the metrics the company was striving for. When Leonard Lauder heard this, he contacted JP and demanded he take care of all of the expenses I incurred and invited me to stay for dinner the next night with his beautiful wife and child. I was beyond honoured and humbly accepted. After being treated like royalty and a valued member of Esteé Lauder even after such a small amount of time, I was given a tour of the facilities and I assure you the vision has stuck with me all these many years. Thank you Leonard. upon return to my post, all systems and issues were 99% mitigated or eliminated.An extremely proud moment for me was when I was asked to help at the factory sale. I asked for the toughest thing to sell, as it is not fun for me without a challenge. Not only did I get the challenge, they also put me to the challenge of helping sell books for Breast Cancer Research Foundation. *** Super proud, sold out all 18 wheelers that unloaded in the first 4.5 hours, so I asked them to go get more. ***Returning to work Monday, a beautiful HUGE thank you card and Massive basket of flowers from the Breast Cancer Research foundation. I had them ship the flowers immediately to the hospital to be disbursed amongst those brave individuals battling this awful disease.

Multiple flavors of DOS/Windows/Novell/Banyan Vines etc....This is a fill in for the small contracts and positions that I filled during the in between time lines. While working for 🇨🇦 COMSOC, I was asked for by name. During a photo opp, while working to setup systems at the deputy minister office. He demanded I be in the photo, as he was impressed with the service and commitment. Stating to the reporter, that prior to my arrival in his office things were chaotic and he was glad that was now under control.

At Everex, I helped them scale back the loses they were experiencing daily. When I was asked to join, IT was more than 18 people. The mistakes and deployment of resources were harming the company to the tune of over $40 Million annually. My unorthodox methodology saw a complete shuffle of IT/IS staff and brought the unprecedented stability to Everex Computers Canada.Pre-shuffle, the company had a 40+ Million loss and clients were totally unhappy. Post-shuffle, the clients called management to thank them for the new level of service. Within 3 and 1/2 months, management announced that they are bringing in a new team to implement all of my recommendations. Management was able to chart a nearly $20M profitability over the following 12 months. I hear they sold the company right after that.

Was hired to build the servers for their clients at 1/3 my asking salary, as the owner was a sweetheart of a human being and asked nicely, explained the situation and position he was in.When I got there, there was a fantastic guy, Aaron R. who was constantly asked to do more and more, but I felt as if my presence there would cost him his job.He did not have the full formal training in Novel and I was self taught. The tasks and the number of servers needed would have made us work for months without sleep. I came up with a plan and a system, taught Aaron how to install 100 servers in a single day.I then resigned and left the position to him. I met up with him accidentally one day and asked how it was? He stated that he was able to hand everything to the owner, who really enjoyed learning all the process and was in the middle of a move to Israel. The best part Aaron, was offered a position travelling and installing Novel. He even enjoyed the private jet to get places. ;)

While working at Radio Shack, I sold the president of Skyline his cell phone. He said he loved my ability to sell, communicate the value and the passion and drive I put behind things I believe in.He immediately offered me a position that was impossible to say no to, and taught me the construction trade and management side.He appreciated my skills and hard work, let me use his personal vehicle without reserve and in the summer, gave me his custom 900cc Honda.My proudest accomplishment was being asked to take over in getting the Brazilian Ball prepped and ready for the event the next night, when my boss was unable to continue from shear exhaustion and his best friend being sick in hospital. I assure you as I did him, I did not let him down. I began managing crews, orchestrating all aspects of the construction and ensuring all staff, musicians, trades (including Ainsworth), showgirls, tables, decorations, table cloths, the tiniest details and more, and ensuring they were where they needed to be, and on time.Buy me a coffee, and I will share with you a story of overcoming obstacles that most would collapse under, but I found it fun.According to my former boss, it was the most successful Brazilian Ball they had hosted ever.

Took a retail sales position at Radio Shack, to stay close to my father who was ill at the time.In 45 days, I was outselling and out spif'ing every sales person in the district.One weekend, I worked with a gentleman and sold him the 1st type of cell phones :) 25lb brick.To my surprise, it was the Vice president and comptroller of Bell Cellular. He brought camera crew and my manager in tow.In the August 1986 Tandy Radio Shack Interaction magazine, he had them place an article about me. (Very proud and humbled to have made that much of an impact)Shortly thereafter, I was fast tracked in being trained for management and was asked to begin rotations in 4 different stores to bring up their sales.

Designed and Architected a network infrastructure to help the company grow.I was hired directly out of school and offered the position upon my arrival in Toronto.I helped the owner ensure the product I delivered worked for all the staff and that it did not require a ton of maintenance. I remember the owner fondly, he always appreciated my work as I never gave up, and never made him feel inferior. January was a sad and exciting month, as the company was sold to a major brand, leading to airline coffee pouch technology used now on airlines.
