Essential Duties & Responsibilities Oversee monthly financial close process including streamlining the close to ensure efficiency as well as timeliness and accuracy of financial information. Ensure adherence to GAAP. Ensure that all accounting transactions are processed timely and properly. Liaison between accounting department and outside audit firm. Work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer in preparing reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas such as income, expenses, and earning based on past, present & expected operations Prepare necessary monthly reporting including analysis of financial statements. Integral part of quarterly and year-end reporting team including stand alone financial statements. Implement new processes to ensure efficiency in flow of work. Ensure compliance and enhancement of all corporate policies and procedures. Ensure systems, processes and controls are followed.Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervised up to 6 professionals as well as hire, train and develop accounting staff, as needed. Effectively coach and mentor manager and staff accountants to ensure the team is working as effectively as possible while taking on the complexities of a growing organization.Special Projects: Ensure accuracy of the integration of data from the old Peachtree subledger system to the new JG Wentworth subledger while meeting corporate imposed deadline.  Implementation of the automation of asset and debt fair value modeling system out of an excel based application into the subledger application system.

Preparation of financial statement footnotes and proper disclosures as well as preparation of monthly journal entries to ensure compliance with US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirementsAssist and support monthly internal reporting to management and quarterly preparation of external financial statements to parent company and third partiesConcentration in the accounting and reporting for stock-based and cash compensation arrangements under FAS 123R and IFRS equivalent.Maintain and administer all accounting aspects of the company’s stock and cash incentive plansDevelop key documentation, procedures and controls for incentive compensation programsDevelop reporting systems and internal review processesEnhance processes to better support the businessDefine, prepare, review and analyze various monthly schedules and roll forwards supporting the consolidated balance sheet and income statementEnsure proper documentation and support for monthly account reconciliationsPerform accounting research to support adherence to accounting policies and procedures for significant accounting transactions in such areas such as compensation and other areas, as requiredReview and approve monthly journal entriesLiaison with the Human Resource, Payroll, Tax and Legal Groups and other areas within Finance regarding cost implications for executive and other compensation arrangementsSupport all forms of reporting to parent company, who is a public registrant in ItalySupport the quarterly reviews and annual audits with the Company's external registered public accounting firmPerform month-end expense variance review and analysisPrepare analyses and ad hoc requests for upper management, audit committee and board of directorsComputer Applications: Peoplesoft, Outlooksoft, Nvision, Microsoft Excel

• Manage various alternative hedge fund and private equity engagements with net asset values of up to $4 billion that invest in highly distressed debt. • Planned and coordinated testing around various investments including highly distressed debt instruments, credit default swaps, total return swaps, and foreign real estate investments. • Analyze, research, and conclude on various technical accounting issues affecting my alternative investment engagements such as FASB 140, FASB 157, FIN 48, FAS 161 and consolidation of investments in transaction vehicles.• Reviewed financial statements, including the condensed schedule of investments, related footnotes and disclosures, and financial highlights. • Ensure client compliance with their governing documents, restructuring arrangements, and debt and ISDA covenants. • Coordinated testing of Master-Feeder, partnership, blocker and side pocket structures.• Reviewed and analyzed client's capital structure, management fees, incentive fees, deferred incentive fee, and carried interest arrangements consistent with their governing documents. • Coordinated property site visits with foreign offices and oversaw detail input testing of underlying property inputs and validation of DCF models implemented.• Research and consult on various technical accounting issues for a PwC transaction services client.• Review, coordinate, and monitor associates on engagements including assessing capabilities and needs of team members, assigning audit areas, monitoring workloads, and assessing performance. • Prepare and monitor engagement budgets and ongoing profitability of engagements.
