I pastor this urban church, which is diverse racially, ethnically, socioeconomically, and in personality! My two highest aspirations: 1. “I must decrease. Jesus must increase.” 2. “Equipping the saints for the work of ministry.”I’ve guided us into our post-COVID-19 “re-launch” as a church, which has included space relocation and both in-person and virtual gatherings. I have sought to develop the church in its leadership. I have responded with care and support to accompany congregants through a range of life challenges. I have spearheaded a churchwide strategic planning process, which has already resulted in energizing new initiatives, like: re-starting a children’s ministry, a congregational spiritual gifts assessment, and enhanced efforts at safeguarding vulnerable populations.

I teach topical online Webinars (3-5 per month) on how to use Accordance Bible Software for biblical languages, preaching, word studies, and more. Lately I've especially enjoyed a "Translation Notes" series where I guide users through translating the Gospel of Mark from Greek to English.

I sought to support, encourage, and equip the congregation and its leadership; connect with people in the local community; preach and help lead services weekly; and minister with the congregation in a variety of other ways.

I wrote Sustainable Youth Ministry: The Study Guide; I have consulted with churches to help them build sustainable youth ministries.

I helped plan and lead chapel services twice a week, and had the privilege of coaching student worship leaders.

I ministered with youth and families, building up a team of adult volunteers to do the same.

I oversaw two full-time staff and 20+ volunteers in a youth ministry of 100+ young people.
