Trackonomy is a technology and solutions company with a breakthrough platform focused on enabling true end-to-end visibility and control across fragmented global supply chains driving towards an era of autonomous shipments across transportation, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, safety and security markets as well as logistics service providers. Cobalt Robotics provides indoor robotic security services, and is backed by investors such as Bloomberg Beta, Sequoia and Coatue.

I provided strategic business and legal advice to select early stage companies, everything from helping think through HR issues, to contract negotiations with customers, to financial modeling. Two clients turned into full time roles for me (Bright Funds and Cobalt Robotics).

Bright Funds is a SaaS giving platform for companies. Worked with teams through the complete sales cycle, from the RFP response to custom work scoping to effectively launching each customer. Handled financing ($600K bridge note), banking ($750K venture debt line) and board and investor matters. Ensured compliance with privacy and charitable giving regulations. Implemented business metrics and team OKRs, and hiring and employee review processes. Directly managed six employees, including the four person Customer Support team.

I joined OUYA (founded by two former IGNers) to manage a lot of the day-to-day, including finance and the San Mateo office, at a critical moment for the business. I designed a new post-hardware business model, brought on key hires, built better processes, and generally worked to reinvigorate the atmosphere. Unfortunately, an issue with existing debt necessitated a sale process, and so my role became about dealing with all the hard things: issues with the lender, headcount reductions, creditor negotiations, lean budgeting and creative cash management - all while maintaining morale and focus. We avoided a shutdown and sold the business to Razer.

As Crunchyroll's first internal lawyer, I set it on a solid legal footing for its evolution into a multichannel platform by cleaning up the legal issues that had accumulated over 7+ years, implementing good practices and policies, hiring the right outside counsel, and working out critical corporate governance matters. In this time the company grew from 60 to 140 employees.

• Oversaw the legal workflow of a 350+ person company with multiple divisions and locations, managing one lawyer and one paralegal. • Acted as interim CFO during three-month CFO search, overseeing a 23 person Finance and Accounting team and planning major cost-cutting initiatives, including a headcount reduction.• Worked closely with Finance on budgeting and forecasting, and with HR on personnel matters and company policies and initiatives.• Ran M&A deals and helped drive a potential spin-off transaction.

Managed internal legal affairs matters, primarily for the IGN Entertainment division. Work included digital content distribution licensing, digital service agreements, online ad deals, promotions, and also tax (domestic and international) and payment issues. (Promoted from Director in December 2007.)
