When I told my dad I was going to grad school for poetry, his response was blunt, “What kind of career are you gonna have doing that?” As it turns out, a pretty interesting one. For 20 years, I’ve maintained a record of storytelling, production, publication, media design, and learning solutions.Currently, I write and develop training solutions for some of the world’s biggest brands in retail, QSR, insurance, airline, hospitality, and travel—check my resume; it’s a Fortune’s who’s who. In addition, I was creative director for a decade to a team of developers, graphic artists, animators, video editors, and writers that produced videos, shorts, animations, podcasts, and infographics. Some of the hats I have worn and continue to wear include director, editor, instructional designer, learning engineer, producer, podcaster, voiceover talent, and marketer. The career path I forged grew from my background as a storyteller. Storytelling is the first arrow in my quiver. Only Hawkeye and Katniss have a better aim.
