As a lawyer I had the honor and pleasure to advise clients and litigate on their behalf on big challenges to new technologies and business models, especially when one industry wanted to squelch or kill another industry or new technology. My practice focused on litigating Internet law, technology regulation, freedom of expression/association, intellectual property, and complex commercial disputes. I counseled companies and entrepreneurs regarding Internet, e-commerce, copyright, trademark, advertising, consumer protection, unfair competition, and business dispute issues. I represented a wide variety of clients, especially clients in the technology, e-commerce, consumer products, electronics, computer hardware and software, life sciences, retail, and financial services sectors.Apart from the practice of law I have served on eight not-for-profit boards and have developed expertise in nonprofit governance and board best practices.
