My most recent role over this past summer was as an investment and operations intern at the Beirne Group. It was a dynamic experience, and during this time I was able to see every single part of the business. I took part in every single pillar of the business including Compliance, Operations, Investments, and Marketing. Firstly, I was in compliance, and I sat very closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and reviewed many ongoing Gap's and Adhue's. As well as reviewing documents on file for clients and making sure they were processed correctly. After my 2-week stint with compliance I moved onto Investments. Within investments I was able to sit in on many board meetings with countless townships and municipalities across Connecticut alongside the President of Beirne. Discussing and going over their current portfolio management for various pension funds including Stamford and Bristol Fire. I was also able to create many fund watchlists, and within this I was responsible for finding many ill performing funds and finding similar funds to replace them with. Next, I moved onto Operations where I was responsible for executing trades through Fidelity Wealthscape for numerous clients. As well as sitting in and helping on many Rollover IRA's. Lastly, I was able to explore my creative side with the Chief Marketing Officer. Brainstorming many ideas for Beirne social media pages and websites.
