About Andrew Baker

Andrew Baker has already spent a lifetime on the water. Growing up in Northern Ireland, he learnt to sail at an early age on Strangford Lough, competing in a wide range of boats, from Laser dinghies to high-performance yachts, and over the last two decades he has represented Northern Ireland at numerous international events and regattas. Turning his passion into a career and taking his sailing to the next level, he is now making steps in solo offshore racing, with the ultimate goal to one day, win the Vendee Globe, the legendary round the world race. And compete in the Volvo Ocean RaceTo achieve this vision will require full commitment from himself plus support from key individuals and sponsors who share a common goal. Andrew is a driven individual with a wealth of knowledge and experience in not only sailing but campaign management, boat maintenance and set up. Plus many miles under his belt inshore and offshore many of which are solo and include sailing at night. He has been involved in various premier teams and worked with professionals in fields including fitness, navigation and routeing software and metrology.
