In order to remain competitive in the group insurance business, the client’s medical underwriting process needed to be re-engineered. The project’s goal is to provide a seamless digital flow, enhance customer experience, eliminate manual processes and increase operational efficiencies. The technical solution consists of both custom built front-end eApplication components and a core underwriting system (UnderwritingPro). This project has extensive internal/external integrations to enable a seamless end-to-end business process. The project interacts with 14 different applications using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. Responsibilities:• Design, develop and implement interfaces across systems using Mule 4• Create Interface Control Documents for each of the service clearly defining the inputs, outputs, operations, exceptions, support and SLA’s• Work with Business Analyst to create JIRA stories for the services• Participate in daily Scrum meetings• Responsible for developing and supporting 9 integrations across multiple systems• Used HTTP Connector to develop 3 RESTful services for external providers to send data to the underwriting system• Used SFTP and File Connector to pull files from an external system and load it internal ECM system• Used Scheduler, SFTP Connector, Batch Job, File Connector and Database Connector to fetch, process and load lab results from external lab provider to internal underwriting system• Developed a service to consume SOAP web service to generate client notices• Created a service using JMS Connector which published message to ActiveMQ after an application has been processed. Mainframe based Policy Admin consumes the message from the queue • Developed unit test cases using MUnit• Built and deployed services to CloudHub using Maven and Jenkins Environment: Mule 4, CloudHub, Anypoint Studio, JIRA, Oracle, Postman, RAML, JSON, XML, MUnit, GitHub, Maven, Jenkins
