About Albion M. Butters

My interests as a historian of comparative religion include Tibetan Buddhism and spirituality in popular culture. Currently I am senior editor for an international project translating the corpus of the 19th-century Vajrayana scholar Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, and co-editor of the journal Studia Orientalia Electronica. I am also one of the creators of a cross-media, cross-chain entertainment project called Mandala. Academically, I am working on a monograph on the genre of spiritual fiction (or what I call "spi-fi") as represented in comics.
