Programmed and ran the study using the EyeLink 1000 and its associated ExperimentBuilder software. Collected large sets of word norms for both emotion and concreteness, used these norms to evaluate the effect of emotion on lexical decision and naming times, tested a new method for assessing the emotional underpinnings of these effects, and explored the distribution of emotion across the English lexicon. Resulted in 4 publications and one manuscript in preparation.Sept 2010 - May 2012: Doctoral research conducted with Dr. Karin Humphreys. Used the Linguistic Category Model to measure the level of abstraction in people’s self-talk compared to their talk about close or distant others.
