Speech Language Pathologist and Augmentative Communication Specialist in the Waisman Center AAC Programs including:- Communication Aids & Systems Clinic (CASC): Clinic-based direct evaluation and therapy services focused on Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC).- Communication Development Program (CDP): Community-based outreach program focused on family and team training and consultation for implementation fo AAC.- AAC Partnership Program: Capacity-building program to increase AAC knowledge and expertise of SLPs across the state of Wisconsin.- ECHO AAC: Online learning community geared toward capacity building around AAC use and implementation by connecting users of AAC and other stakeholders for sharing of best practices.Staff contribute to the programs in a variety of ways including direct and indirect services, community outreach activities such as presentations, collaboration with related research activities, supervision of graduate students, and provision of expert level customization and training related to AAC systems.

I oversaw and assisted with transcribing and coding language samples, using the Systematic Analysis of Language Transcripts (SALT Software) to analyze language abilities of children including those with typical development, cochlear implants, African American English dialect, and adults with dementia and aphasia. Other administrative duties included organization and paperwork of projects, training of new transcribers, and ordering of supplies.

I was a lifeguard and swim instructor in the summers from 2003-2006, monitoring safety at the pool, dealing with customer relations, and assisting with cleaning of the facilities. I became Pool Director for the 2007-2011 summers and my duties expanded to include hiring and training lifeguards/swim instructors, scheduling, promoting community involvement, financial planning, and management of supplies and chemicals for the pool.

While working in the SALT Software, LLC sales and customer support office my responsibilities included customer support, packaging of software, shipping orders, monitoring inventory, preparations for and work at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) annual convention to promote the software.
