Summer Intern
After a 2 week crash course in parallel programming, I adapted a simulation of the transport properties of carbon nanotori to support multiprocessor computation. Successfully achieved extremely high scaling for arbitrarily large, distributed memory clusters. The simulation is currently being used for research purposes.
Summer Intern
Investigated optimal configuration of a radio frequency driving cavity within a storage ring accelerator. Using existing Fortran simulation, determined the ideal driving frequency to produce a stable, discretized particle beam with the correct radius. Also helped refine steering and focusing dipole and quadrupole electromagnet properties for use in the proposed storage ring. Work was done in collaboration with the Storage Ring pEDM Experiment group at BNL.
Summer Intern
Developed a Monte Carlo simulation of electron transport in a silicon charge-coupled device while working alongside the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope group at BNL.
