hello explorer! my name is acacia :)thank you for stopping by! here's a little bit about me: i am a product designer | ux/ui designer and illustrator based in dallas, texas. i started out as a nuclear engineering major. the coursework was very technical, and i always wished i could take an art class or two in between, but the closest thing was architectural drawing (and that is still quite technical hehe). my first taste of UXUI design was at a startup after college as a quality assurance engineer, and i quickly learned that you REALLY do wear lots of hats in a fledgling business, which was fine with me; i like learning and trying new things! of course, my favorite hat was "app designer and coordinator." within a few weeks, i had become the main point of contact for the app dev team: analyzing use cases, QA testing, updating wireframes, and presenting to the dev team…and all the while this thought would pop into my head: “me?? am i qualified to be making these presentations? last month i didn’t even know what a wireframe is…” it was a very good learning environment, with lots of encouragement and mentorship for someone fresh out of college, and it whet my appetite to dive deeper into the world of design where i could use my engineering foundations and love for art and design.i enjoy creating meaningful and positive experiences through functional, minimalist, and aesthetic design and seeing those designs become reality. drawing from my engineering roots, my design process focuses on formulating ways to merge vision, goals, and a plan constructed through clear communication, observation, and critical thinking to find opportunities and solutions that meet business goals and end user ease. i have experience in project management, UX copywriting, proofreading, technical writing, testing, critical thinking and analysis, research, narrative-telling, illustration, design, and prototyping. i am code conversational (html, css, javascript), and my technical skills include Figma, Miro, inVision, Procreate App, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Corel Ventura. i am always excited to learn and add new ones to my toolbox!p.s. when i'm not working on design projects...you can find me at the dog park with our fluffy boy, tucker, drawing custom pet portraits of fur friends, browsing the confectionary aisle at the grocery store, crocheting something cute, or doing family fun stuff.pet portraits inspired by potato dogs: www.instagram.com/tinytuckerstudio
